Mornings

 I was having a conversation about coffee the other day and found myself sounding like crack junkie. It's true though, I cannot for the life of me, function like a normal human being if I haven't had my coffee. It just isn't possible. I am literally a zombie. It takes me a (long) while to compute and begin to understand even the most basic of things.

For example, I watch the Weather Channel as I get ready. Mostly its background noise, but I like to know what's in store for the day or what hurricanes or storms are brewing and where. Okay, I'm a weather freak, leave me alone! But I digress, I was talking about being stupid until I have my coffee. So check it out, as soon as I turn on the tv, I stare blankly for about a minute or two listening to Al Roker talk about the ongoing heatwave, rain, etc. before I can actually think about reading the bottom right corner of the screen to check out my local weather! I just ... sit there!

Its nuts, really. But yeah, coffee and a morning cigarette are part of my daily fix. I need them. Mostly the coffee though. God forbid I don't get my cup o' joe, I won't be able to fully function til about noon! Ha!

Well kids, Christmas is just around the corner and everyone is buying presents for everyone. I don't know about you, but I love shopping for the ideal gift for everyone. I love to see people's reactions when opening gifts, especially the really surprised ones.
Usually, my friends or family will start hinting about things they want, rarely do they make a wishlist., which in my opinion is better because I like giving surprises, I don't want you to know what I'm giving you! I know, that's me being selfish.

Anyway, I've never made a wishlist either and I was asked earlier today by a co-worker, "If you could have ANYTHING for Christmas, what would you like to get?" A million glitzy and sparkly things popped into mind, but I have to be honest, my first reaction was to say, "A Macbook Pro!"
Yeah, the nerd in me longs for beautifully sleek high tech items.

So then came the idea, if I had the opportunity to create a wishlist no matter the price, what would I like to get? So here begins a series of pretty little items that well, let's be honest, I'll never, ever be able to afford. At least not most of them, but hey a girl can dream, right?

Books: First editions are always so hard to find and usually very expensive, but they are so so beautiful. Not only those though, any good book, even a classic, even if I already have it! You should know that I am a huge fan of book covers and the art behind them, so really, any book would make me happy.
Christian Louboutin platform shoes: No need to explain why, you know why I want them. The same reason you and everyone else in the world wants them. Crazy, sexy, timeless shoes.
Kelly Framel cocktail rings: Delicious one-of-a-kind cocktail rings for those glamorous nights.
Yves Saint Laurent fur pencil skirt: I saw this on The Sartorialist blog about 2 months ago and its still lingering in my brain. Love, love it! I figured I could never have it, but I know I will always want it. Definitely had to go on my billion dollar wishlist!

Instant Smile | Holiday Edition

So, its Monday, December 13 and I am finally getting in the Christmas spirit.
I blame work and being sick and well, just life in general, for me being all grinchy up to well, about 3 hours or so ago.
Its ridiculous I know.

Some weeks ago I came across this site, Rdio.com, that lets you create a collection of music, playlists, etc. that you can sync to your phone or listen to on the web. Its quite rad, really. Anyway, I came across the Charlie Brown Christmas EXTENDED album and added it to my collection, but never really played it. Today I was searching to play something to get me going, but nothing seemed to fit my mood, then this.
I can't explain what big of a smile the first notes of this album gave me. Everything just came flooding into my head–––memories of family, gifts, people I miss, ideas for presents, ideas in general, random thoughts––it was quite unbelievable. You might think I'm ridiculous but I feel pretty damn warm and fuzzy inside and that, well, that makes me smile so much. Given the days I've been having recently, I am really cherishing these moments.

So, here I am, alone in my office. Multitasking like a mad woman, listening to A Charlie Brown Christmas with a big ole' smile on my face. Like a freakin' kid.
Its nice. :)

No, its not in the cards for me at the moment, but I can't help but go nuts over Vera Wang's bridal collections.

There's always something that I love, and there's always more than one that I want to buy. Everything is just so chic and beautiful, delicate and playful; she's got the wedding gown down to a tee.

I'm not gonna lie kiddies, I wish I was getting married right now solely to I could get a Vera Wang gown; that's terrible isn't it? Ha! Oh well, I guess that's why its not happening for me right now. Priorities!

If I could, I would totally buy one and wear it everyday at home. You know, just drinking coffee in my Vera Wang super beautiful, tulle and organza gown.

Le sigh.

Think of it this way, if you vote you earn the right to bitch and moan for the next 2 years when shit hits the fan and doesn't go as planned. Even if your guy/gal doesn't win, at least you tried, right? ;)

Please forgive the lack of posts, but I have been crazy busy these days! I promise to get up to date as soon as possible! I now have a new job and well, lots of new deadlines to meet. (Aside from my personal ones) So, of course the first to suffer was my precious blog. Sadness!

Hello, October!

October really snuck up on me this year, but I am very happy to see its arrival.

I am oh so very excited! October is my favorite month of the year, followed of course, by December and my birth month, September. I love to see the weather changing, the fall leaves falling, the coats and the scarves making their appearances and the Halloween spirit that consumes many of us!

I can't even begin to express how excited NFL season makes me! So happy the Saints got a victory in last night's season opener and that fucking Brett Favre had a loss. (Don't get me started on that man!)

Hooray for NFL drafts, bets with people I loathe and maddening stats. Hooray! Hooray for cookouts, beers and the passion of watching your team play! Hooray! Hooray for the fans, the rivalries and the madness! Hooray for football!
