Damn, boy.

Oh, don't mind me, just you know, here, daydreaming ...

[I blame the hormones.]

Roset's Muse

conradroset

I lust over this illustration.

Actually, I lust over all of Conrad Roset's illustrations. I wanted to post so many of his 'Muses' pieces but well, I settled for one of my top 10 favorites. Everything about his work is beautiful; colorful delicate nudes with a mixture of grunginess and a fun edge. Do check out Roset's website, I promise you will love his work.

Roset is a 26 year-old illustrator from Barcelona, Spain. This dude has already worked for ad campaigns with the likes of Zara, Adidas and Coca Cola. Most recently he had an exhibit at the Yolanda Rojas gallery, in Granada, Spain.

I am so in love with Roset's work. I covet his talent and each of his delicate pieces. Keep tabs on this kid, I am almost sure he's on to something big.

Sweet Lovin'

Loving you, is easy because you're beautiful ...

I've been having the worst case of sweet tooth lately. It's been so bad, I literally gasped in delight when I came across this photo. So now I am dying to travel to Austria and have the scrumptious Sachertorte pictured here. Curse my lack of travel points!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to a fantastic man, badass actor and fellow Virgo, Bill Murray! 60 years ago, today he was born. I suggest you celebrate his birth with some alcohol and a Murray movie marathon. Cheers!

Inside The Wave

Okay guys, who's moving with me to the Netherlands? Look at this place! How unique is this?
Aptly named, The Wave In Vejle, is a crazy badass architectural project by Danish company Henning Larsen Architects. The exceptional structure houses 140 apartments with views to the bay, while also creating a unique reflection on the surface of the sea, giving both Vejle and Denmark a breathtaking new landmark.

Words of Wisdom

Always to everyone. Especially to those that dislike you, nothing bothers them more.

Musical Piggies

source
Ceramic piggies with built in circular speakers in their bellies? Seriously, it just doesn't get any cuter than this.
Available in 3 different colors and finishes, these adorable piggies have an audio jack where the tail would have been to connect your iPod or mp3 player of choice.
I would love to have one piggy for each room. The kitchen, the bathroom, my desk, next to my books, aaaah! The possibilities are endless!

Instant Smile

This song always does that to me. Does that happen to you guys? Any song that puts an instant smile on your face?
Anyway, Hacienda is coming to my favorite dive bar this Thursday, hopefully I'll get to see them.

It's Never Too Early

I strongly believe that it's never too early to wear leather and lace. When coordinated correctly, the magic of leather and lace can be worn at all hours of the day, any day. For example, the leather pencil skirt can be oh-so-sexy, but subtle enough to be worn to work. However, when paired with ruby red lips, fishnet hosiery and sky-high stilettos ... you have a whole other outfit.

On another note, Bloomingdale's has launched: "Fall Style Guide: The Plus Edition," with leading lady Crystal Renn. It's a fall collection of name brands aimed towards the full sized woman. I must say that it is quite fantastic, nothing like the usual plus sized attire out there, these are truly chic outfits. Check it out, its got some pretty great styling.

Charmed!

source
I recently discovered Venessa Arizaga's fabulous jewelry creations. Arizaga's collection is made up of charm filled, handmade necklaces, brooches and bracelets. The collection varies from gold and silver chains with clusters of crazy fun charms to long pearl necklaces, each of them with a hint of playfulness.

It's Real Love ♥

All my little plans and schemes
Lost like some forgotten dream
Seems like all I really was doing
Was waiting for you ...

From this moment on I know
Exactly where my life will go
Seems that all I really was doing
Was waiting for love ...

Fact: I hope to be this in love one day and maybe even one day make this my wedding song. Maybe. If I get lucky, right?
I get chills and the urge to cry my little eyes out every time I hear this song, never fails.
Can you imagine how Yoko Ono feels every time she hears this song? If someone wrote me a song like this it would always be playing in my car, my home, my head and my heart. ♥

Eye Candy

LIFE
Well, kids, barely Wednesday and already having a stressful week. I think this calls for eye candy x 4. James Franco, Josh Hartnett, Ben Affleck and Jon Hamm photographed at the Toronto International Film Fest 2010 for LIFE by Jeff Vespa. Amazing portraits of gorgeous men? Yes, please.

Reminiscent Of Cleopatra's Life

fashion156

Holy shit, look at this fucking beautiful dress! I can honestly say I've never seen anything like it. Simply stunning.
Beautiful geometric patterns and simple, clean cuts are just a few signature styles from up-and-coming fashion designer Holly Fulton. Looking like it came right out of Cleopatra's closet, the dress pictured above is part of Fulton's Autumn/Winter 2010 collection, alongside many sharp cuts and crisp patterns that embody her entire fashion line. Fulton has got unbelievable talent and a keen eye for decor and design; her creations are not only a fashion statement, but a magnificent work of art.

Bookin' It

outofprint
If I had this desk, it would always be unbalanced. I would probably finish stacking all the books, level it and place all my things desk top and end up wanting the freaking book that's at the very bottom. Yes, I am difficult like that.
Anyway, gorgeous idea! I can't stop staring at it!

Geometrically Beautiful Stop

designboom
Wow, isn't it crazy how one simple design element can completely change the aesthetics of another? Look at this stop sign, just a geometric decorative border was added and now its so whimsical and beautiful! I wish the stop signs in my neighborhood all looked like this, this is definitely the prettiest stop sign around.

A Day In The Life

Hunter Freeman has some of the most original, fun photography around the web. His astronaut series, part of his personal work, is possibly one of the most clever things I've come across. Given the state of our nation's economy and unemployment rates, this series speaks to us in a a very humorous way. It's a series of snapshots following an astronaut doing everyday things. In every shot, captured brilliantly, we see our hero sitting alone at a diner, doing laundry, watching tv and even hitching a ride on the side of the road. Pretty neat stuff.
Check out his site for a dose of giggles and cleverness. (The Astronaut and Signs of the Times series were my favorite.)

Breakin' The Rules

Today we break the rules. Today we don't match our shoes with our handbag, nor do we restrain ourselves from using gold anything. Today we go crazy!

Black clutch + gold slippers + cream lace dress + black & gold accessories = Gorgeous seductivity

Everything seen here can be purchased from this UK-based shop Austique. I envy all you sultry Europeans, I die for that black & gold skull bracelet. DIE!

What I Want Right Now ...

What do I want right now? Everything at Madewell! The dresses, the blazers, the tops, the jeans and the shorts. Everything! So. Fucking. Pretty. Go buy me something now!

Watercolor Lovin'

Francesca Wadell has stolen my heart and won't give it back. She's a fantastic artist that has the kind of work that makes me jealous I can't illustrate or paint like her. I don't really know why, but I can almost guarantee that upon seeing her beautiful illustrations, you will want to wear your prettiest clothes. Check out her blog, it's the bees knees!

Back To The Future!

Really, doesn't it seem like Marty McFly would wear one of these? Gah! I love them! I used to be a very big watch person and for some reason, several years ago, I just stopped. No idea why. Now that I see all these Neuvo watches, I think I'm ready to make a comeback. Now, if only I could decide on a color ...

Hooray for Football!

enoch bolles
I can't even begin to express how excited NFL season makes me! So happy the Saints got a victory in last night's season opener and that fucking Brett Favre had a loss. (Don't get me started on that man!)

Hooray for NFL drafts, bets with people I loathe and maddening stats. Hooray! Hooray for cookouts, beers and the passion of watching your team play! Hooray! Hooray for the fans, the rivalries and the madness! Hooray for football!

Art Everywhere

anthropologie/victo ngai
Art Everywhere is a post dedicated to finding beautiful art and using it as a source for inspiration in your everyday life. The truth is, art surrounds you, it follows you everywhere you go. It can be as simple as the makeup you choose to wear in the morning, those new lamps in your living room, the crazy pattern on your dress, prints on scarves, color coordination in outfits, photographs in restaurants, lobbies and offices. It really is everywhere.

Granted, some art is better than other, sometimes it can even be hard to swallow. And, sadly, I can't guarantee you seeing Claude Monet's 'Sunrise' hanging in your office break room, but anything can be used as inspiration. Especially now when there are so many young artists on the rise. Let's take for example these beautiful illustrations by Victo Ngai. Look at the variation in colors and the delicate illustrative lines. Not only do these tell a story, but they inspire an alluring sense of awe. Simply beautiful.

These illustrations were the source for my inspiration to find chocolate, red and camel colored accessories. You know, a sort of 'setting the mood' for fall. Upon seeing the top left handbag with the flowers, I was immediately reminded of Ngai's illustration, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' (illustration below said handbag). It's little details like that, that can change your whole outlook on life. You can base your living room around Frida Kahlo's bold colored work and your whole dining room can be inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's 'Starry Night'. I can almost guarantee that you will see things, even life, differently.

Art is always a part of your life, you just have to take a second and soak it in.

Welcome Back, Kings of Leon

Radioactive | Kings of Leon

Reminiscent of old school albums like Because of the Times and my personal favorite, Aha Shake Heartbreak, this new song is pretty rad. Can't wait for their new album to drop!
nicolejarecz

Check out Nicole Jarecz's blog, the girl has got some pretty badass talent. I loved her fashion illustrations; they're very dainty but at the same time oh-so sexy. So good! She's got some more of her amazing fashion illustrations in her coroflot portfolio. Go check it out!

P.S. I love that leopard print dress the model is wearing! ;)

Mad About Mad Men

                                                                                                                                                       orla kiely/source
Hi, my name is Tanya and I am a Mad Men addict. The first step is admitting it, no? Yeah, I've always been a fan AMC's Mad Men. The very first episodes blew my mind and ever since then, it just never ceased to amaze and enthrall me. This season though, season four, it revels in change; not just character within character plot, but life itself. Call it a small insight into the past, as a viewer you are slowly and vicariously experiencing the change in times, a revolution if you will.

This season copywriter Peggy Olson, interpreted by the lovely Elisabeth Moss, turned 26 years old. Not only is she a young, ambitious woman, she is also a key employee at Stanley Cooper Draper Price, she's Don Draper's right hand. Throughout the seasons, we've seen Peggy mature and change her way of thinking and living. Since the beginning of season four Peggy seems much more fashion forward—at the peak of the 60s mod fashion and rock and roll, hippie era—she's developing a fantastic sense of style very much her own.

So how far does my 'Mad' obsession go? Often I come across outfits, accessories, even just tiny details that I can picture being straight out of the series. On occasion, certain events will make me wonder, "What would Peggy, wear? Would Joan approve of this lipstick?" Believe me, it happens far too often in my head.
Today as I was browsing through London-based Orla Kiely's website, I came across these sublime, vintage looking dresses. First thought? Oh, that is so Peggy. And so, this post was born.

If you haven't, take some time out to watch the show, I suggest you do because it is pretty damn good. Cinematic, memorable, plot and character driven, this is one of the best shows you'll find on cable TV, I guarantee it.

I would love to have this every day for the rest of my life. I think I'd be much more productive.

Clean Cut + Chic

rdujour

I am in lust with Zara's Fall 2010 lookbook! With all those coats, simple cuts and classic colors, it is indeed something to look at. Comprised of pieces that work well for today's working ladies, these looks can easily transform from casual work attire, to a girlish weekend look or a look for a night out with the girls. Everything is so clean cut and chic, I can guarantee that at least one of these items will become a go-to item for the rest of the year.

Eye Candy

source

What girl doesn't appreciate a sharp dressed, hot, bearded man? I do. A whole lot.
Yum!

B O O K M A R C

racked

The big new addition is a real eye-catcher, however. A vintage reading table sits front and center, complete with stools on hinges to retract inward. Currently the table is stocked with the Marc Jacobs colored pencils, $1.65 postcards featuring original art and photography, and custom blank journals printed with classic book titles, cheekily re-worded. Our favorites? "Moby's Dick (LOL)" and "The Gay Gatsby."

Prices for the Marc-branded school supplies are college student budget-friendly, with most (non-leather) items under $30. But then we took stock of the actual books in the store, and let us tell you that Marc and Robert aren't slouching on the selection. These are hard-core, and in some cases, even rare, coffee table-style tomes. From the giant—Kate Moss by Mario Testino—to the tiny—the 33 1/3 series—Bookmarc has the perfect selection for its perfect demographic. Don't forget the Oprah biography!

I would sell my soul to the devil to work here.

Booklovin'

Who says you can't be a badass, fashionable bookworm?

Amazing fall collection by German designer Ella Haberlach, could easily be the wardrobe a nerdy chick like me would wear. Haberlach's line, Seelenkleid, has got amazing rock and roll style that can be worn casually, but with an edge.  I'd pair my outfit with a vintage looking coin ring by Aussie designer Sylvie Markovina, whom might I add, has a pretty unique jewelry collection.

Now, we've reached the really exciting part of the post: Amazing clothbound F.Scott Fitzgerald books designed by Coraline Bickford-Smith! So beautiful with bold patterns, the books almost feel like they were swiped from a library back in 1977. Simply beautiful, I am in love.

Have I told you I love balloons?

I was perusing the internets again, (yeah, I have a lot of time on my hands, don't judge!) when I came across three different blogs that talked about the same event. Several links later, I ended up finding out about Suzanne Cabrera of an open [sketch]book and her fabulous 30th birthday party. In her blog, Cabrera talks about having a difficult year in which she lost her job and dealt with other personal trials as well. In dire need of a fresh start, Cabrera speaks of how her best friend Addie suggested she should put an end to the terrible year and welcome her 30s with a bang.

The photos say it all, everything looks like it was a fabulous! There were party favors for everyone, lots of candy, food and drinks and even a piƱata. Everything is so cute and festive, I just want to jump into the pictures and have a blast with everyone. Cabrera says her best friend Addie planned the whole thing, decorations and all, while her friend Tim captured every moment in the making. But the detail that drew me to this story the most was the 30 balloon send off. The idea consisted of one birthday wish attached to each of the 30 brightly colored balloons, that would (hopefully) be found by random people and bring them a little cheer. Follow this link to read the sendoff story, its very heartwarming.

I loved everything about this story, even though I don't know Cabrera, I feel like I understand where she is coming from and how the need for a fresh start is sometimes just necessary. I am so glad she decided to share her  thoughts of love and happiness with random people. Those little details, small acts of kindness and love, those are the things that make our world go 'round.
